It's Christmas time!

I am excited to be in the Christmas season. The tree is up, most of the shopping is done, the good treats are all around me, and I keep thinking I have an excuse to eat all I want.

A baby update for the family so far away. She is doing good, growing fine. I have even started picking up a few things pink, purple and red. I am ready to make blankets and hairbows. It is going to be fun. Hopefully only 12-13 more weeks to go!

I have had some crazy comments made to me after people find out it is a girl. Often I hear, "Oh that poor baby, she will be so tortured. I feel sorry for her" or "How sad for her to have all those brothers!". I think quite the opposite. I think she is very lucky. The boys are so excited, and I know they are going to be great with her. Do people really think they are that mean? That naughty? I need to think up better comebacks for these comments. Quick, good comebacks. Any ideas???

  1. Firstly, thank GARSH you are blogging again. I feel so out of the loop on your life. Good updates!

    Here's your comeback:
"You feel sorry for her? Cuz she will be protected and cuddled up by 5 big brothers that adore her?" Then give them the bird and walk away. That's just my opinion tho. ::giggle::

  2. yay for a blog update! :)

I only had two boys, then a girl, and I got stupid comments so I can just IMAGINE all the comments you're getting! Drives me nuts! I can't imagine Jayden having anything but super awesome big brothers to protect her and cuddle her. Your boys are going to be the best big brothers a girl could ask for!

And enjoy all the girl shopping, I LOVE it! I say we couldn't have had Jayden first, she would have bankrupted our newly married selves! LOL

  4. Since I live in a fairy tale world, I will loan you my magic wand the next time I see you. But until then, I came up with 2 possible come backs:
1 - I think you should agree with people and respond with, "Yeah, my boys are so mean. They'll probably eat her or something." Then in your best vampire voice, say, "I don't know where they get it," and then make your eyes glow red (contacts or something) and stick out your tongue and start laughing nervously as you walk away. (My friend Edward said to be overly sarcastic when you do it, though, or people might read too much into it . . . )
2 - Let's face it, people are rude. And sometimes they just need to be reminded of how irrelevant their opinions are. With a look of genuine concern on your face, ask if they've switched to diet soda yet. Just stare at them until they answer. If nothing else, it will change the topic of your conversation to something positive and maybe even help them to repent and CTR. :D

  5. How utterly rude of people. I had 4 older brothers who loved me and my mom said my feet didn't touch the ground until I was two--someone was always carrying me. My oldest brother who was 6 when I was born used to rock me to sleep. So THERE people. Take that and stuff it up your nose like a rubber hose. I'm just sayin'.

  7. Well, I grew up with SIX brothers, and turned out relatively fine. Only one of them made my life torturous or caused people to feel sorry for me-I'm sure you can guess which one. I think she is about the luckiest little girl around.

  8. I can't believe people have said that to you. I think she'll be very lucky. I only had 2 older brothers, but I loved it most of the time! Hope everything goes well.

  9. Glad to hear your little girl is doing well!
I think those rude people need to get toilet papered! Seriously, what planet are they from? She is going to be one of the luckiest girls in the world having 5 big bros. looking out for her. I always wished i had older brothers!

  13. My two sisters would say that it only takes one brother to terrorize them. I guess that it all depends on the brother. Congrats Sara!!! I seem to be good at getting girls. My first was a boy and the other three are girls. Send me an email. I would love to hear from you and Rob. sammy8129@yahoo.com

  15. HA! People never think before they talk. Well, I have my two older brothers (plus your babysitting/mothering skills) and I turned out fairly sane right? Plus, are you kidding me? You're having a girl!!! She is going to be so cute and always have great hair. Does my mom know? Because I bet she totally freaked out. I am coming home this weekend so I will hopefully see you sometime during my short little break. I know it's the holidays and busy so we'll try to work something out. Merry Christmas!

  16. People are retarded, as far as the comments go. I had number 2 girl, dressed in pink, in a FULLY PINK car seat in Costco and was met with, "oh what a beautiful little boy!" Come on! Congrats on the girl though. I'm excited for you and don't be shy with the hair bows. You can NEVER have too many or any that are too big. Throw some sparkles on there while you're at it:)

  18. Hi Sara!
I'm so glad you found me in blogland. Now we can be blogging buddies. Your tree is/was? gorgeous! We had a great Christmas vacation. We stayed around here not doing much of anything but enjoying a slower pace. Ready for school to start up again? If you have a baby shower, I hope you will invite the American Elem Brimhall ward moms. We really should have some type of get together sometime with the 5th ward and Brimhall ward American elem. moms.
